This Italianate style building erected in 1856 at the corner of Main and Leigh Streets is of brick and block construction.  The bank was formed by a Board of Directors with Robert Foster, as President and Nathaniel Voorhees as Cashier.  Voorhees is the father of Foster M. Voorhees who became the 30th
 Governor of New Jersey (1899-1902).  This was also the home of The Gephardt Law Offices and B.D. Howell’s dental practice.
