A group of people with a horse and buggy are pictured in front of the shoemaker’s business. The shoemaker was a German immigrant named, Godfried W. Gebhardt (1830-1901). Two of his sons, Joseph (1856-1911) and Jacob (1857-1899), also worked in the family business.
